Polytechnic School

How to Give to the Campaign

Everything you need to know about cash, stocks, or giving through your estate.

Outright Gifts

Most contributions to Poly are made in the form of cash, check, or credit card. Checks should be made payable to Polytechnic School. Poly also accepts Visa, Mastercard, and American Express by phone or through our secure online donation form.

Corporate Matching Gifts

Many corporations have matching gift programs for secondary schools. Donors should contact their company's human resources department to inquire about matching gift opportunities. Corporate matching gifts apply toward donor club levels.

Appreciated Securities

Making a gift of appreciated stock to Polytechnic School may offer two-fold tax savings by circumventing the tax due on the capital gain and providing an income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time of the gift.

Instructions for transferring stock vary depending on whether the stock is being physically delivered to the school in the form of actual certificates or being sent electronically through DTC for shares that are currently held at a bank, brokerage house, etc.

Bequests and Estate Plans

Including Polytechnic School in an estate plan can be easily accomplished.

  • In a will or living trust, a bequest of a specified amount or percent can be identified.
  • In a retirement plan, Polytechnic School can be named a beneficiary or a contingent beneficiary after family members.
  • In a charitable remainder trust, beneficiaries receive income during their lifetime or for a number of years, after which Polytechnic School would receive the trust.
  • Polytechnic School can be named as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.

Through The Next 100 Years campaign, Poly is reinvigorating its entire academic facility, from kindergarten through high school. Your bequest intention before December 31, 2012 can count toward this landmark endeavor. The Grace Henley Society

The Grace Henley Society recognizes the alumni, faculty and staff, parents and grandparents of Polytechnic School who have thoughtfully provided for the school in a will or other estate plan. A gift to Poly through the Grace Henley Society becomes part of the school's endowment, helping to ensure that the qualities that have made Poly great in the past will continue in the years ahead.
